1. What will CBN application do in general?
Ans: Central Bureau of Narcotics (thereafter referred as CBN) aims at keeping track of the psychotropic substances and increases control over psychotropic substances in India. This application promises to monitor the psychotropic substances from manufacturing/stock/consumption/import/export/sale point of view. With the help of this application, CBN can provide the various reports on psychotropic substances in India, covering bulk drug, preparation for manufacturer and wholesaler from manufacturing/stock/consumption/import/export/sale point of view, to International Narcotics Control Board (INCB) annually. The Manufacturers/Wholesalers/Other Institutions/Traders of Bulk Drug(s)/Preparation(s) of psychotropic substances would have the provision of Registration with a web enabled system which to achieve the desired outcome.

2. How many types of users are there in the system?
Ans: There are total 8 users such as Manufacturer of Bulk Drug(s), Manufacturer of Preparation(s), Wholesalers of Bulk Drug(s), Wholesalers of Preparation(s), Other Institutions of Bulk Drug(s), Other Institutions of Preparation(s), Traders of Bulk Drug(s) and Traders of Preparation(s).

3. How do I apply for the registration?
Ans: This can be done by clicking on one of the 8 types of links as per the type of user and fill up the registration form corresponding to the same type.

4. After completing the initial registration process, how do I login?
Ans: Once the initial registration process is complete then the user will receive a link in the email of the primary authorized signatory?s ID for the activation with the Temporary ID and user name.

5. What should I do after receiving the link in the email with the Temporary ID and user name?
Ans: After clicking on the link present in the email user will be redirected to the create password page, where the user would enter the password and confirm the same by clicking on submit button. Once the user clicks on the submit button, he/she can only change the password by logging into the application and click on the change password link in the top menu link -> Update Profile.

6. What should I do after the generation of the Temporary ID?
Ans: As soon as the user submits the initial registration form, the user will receive a pop up message indicating the user Temporary ID and User ID followed by an email on the primary signatory?s email ID with a link for the activation. On clicking on the link in the email user would be redirected to the CBN website for the password creation where the user will have to enter the password and confirm the same. After confirming the password a popup message would be displayed stating ?Password created successfully?. There after the user can login into the application for the further processing using the User ID and password from the login panel present on the home page.

7. How to login after the registration process?
Ans: The registered user can login using the login panel present on the home page.

8. How to Log Out from the application?
Ans: This can be done by clicking on the cross icon present on the right top of the web page.

9. Is it necessary to Log Out?
Ans: It is not necessary to log out but in any case if user forgets to log out then the system will logout the session after certain time period.

10. What all can one access without login?
Ans: An unregistered user can only register himself/herself by clicking on one of the 8 links of the registration forms of users on the Home Page.

11. How do I Login if I have forgotten the Password?
Ans: One can click on forgot password link present on the home page. After clicking on the forgot password link, the user will be redirected to a new page where he/she needs to enter the User Name and then click on submit. Once the submit button is clicked, the user will receive an email on the registered email ID with a link. Once the user clicks on the link, he/she will be redirected to the CBN website from where he can enter a new password and confirm the same.

12. How to complete the registration and submit the same to the CBN for the processing?
Ans: The user will have to login and complete the registration formalities and click on ?Submit to CBN?. After clicking on the ?Submit to CBN? button, the acknowledgement page will open displaying all the required documents to be sent to CBN within 45 days.

13. Can I modify the application submitted by me after the application of the registration has been approved?
Ans: Yes, the application can be modified by clicking on the Update Profile link present on the top menu of the user dashboard. User can access the dashboard by login into the application using the User ID and password. Using the Update profile the user can edit or modify the filled in application details.

14. How do I view the application form submitted by me?
Ans: After the registration is submitted then with the login ID and password, the user can login into the application, thereafter the dashboard would be displayed, where the user can find the top menu links stating the link for ?View/ Print Registration? from where user can view the filled in application registration form and same can also be printed.

15. How to track the Application Status?
Ans: The user needs to login with the credentials and henceforth an user dashboard will be displayed with the menu links on the top stating Track Application where the user will be able to check the current status of the application.

16. How can I apply for Import Certificate/Export Authorization in the application?
Ans: User can only apply for the Import Certificate/Export Authorization after completing the registration form.

17. How can I add substances and salt in the application?
Ans: The substance and salt can be added in the registration form as well as Import Certificate. The same can be added on click of the Add button.

18. Is it necessary to send the physical documents to the CBN headquarters?
Ans: Yes, it needs to be sent to the CBN headquarters.

19. How can I check whether the application has been approved/rejected?
Ans: The application status can be checked through the ?Application Status link? as well as a mail will be sent through the email to the registered user with the application status as approve/reject.

20. How can I track whether there are any shortcomings in my application?
Ans: If there is any shortcoming in the application, then a mail will be sent to the respective applicant marking all the shortcomings and the same can also be viewed in the Application Status section after login.

21. Why I cannot view the substances/salts in the Import Certificate/Export Authorization in the application?
Ans: This is because the applicant did not select the Import/Export Usage checkbox which was provided in the registration form while adding the substances/salts.

22. How can I apply for the substances/salts to be imported/exported in the Import Certificate/Export Authorization in the application?
Ans: For applying for the same, the applicant needs to go to the Update Profile and then add the substances and their respective salts by marking the Import/Export Usage for the respective substances.

Ans: Background information needs to be filled as it determines all the background history of the Importer/Exporter.
